Michael learned to play music at an early age in Michigan along with his brothers and sisters. This natural and free learning  environment formed his musical foundation. Always listening to the radio, he would learn to play songs he heard on the piano. He took lessons from age 7 with local teachers Jackie Terian, Mary Ellen Bartlett, Ruth Dill, and Dr. Laura Beauchamp-Williamson.

 

Traveling west to continue his education, he studied classical piano with Dr. Caio Pagano at Arizona State and with Gary Amano at Utah State, earning a master's degree in piano performance and pedagogy in 2018.

In 2019, he traveled the US with his wife and son, sharing music in public spaces in 10 states and over 50 locations.

 

Since childhood, he has played music in many churches and loves to accompany congregations singing hymns of praise to God. You will also hear influences of the natural world along with the many diverse musical styles he has encountered.

 

Michael currently lives in Midland, MI with his family where he is active in the community sharing music with people of all ages. ​​
